St. Benedict’s Priory was established in 1988 on the site of a former convent of Dominican Sisters.
It houses Benedictine Brothers belonging to the Congregation of the Annunciation. These brothers identify themselves as "Town Monks" and they involve themselves in the life of the parishes of Choisy-le-Roi and Thiais :
We seek by a sensitive awareness of the realities of town life to reinvent simply but in its daily actuality the essentials of the monastic life, and so to continue to be - for almost the last 75 years , first at L’Hay-les Roses, and then at Choisy-le-Roi and Thiais, and now also at Etiolles "Monks for the town."
St. Benedict’s Priory serves as a centre for meetings, conferences, renewal programmes, and prayer.
The Priory also offers a Guesthouse. Full details are given on the Priory web-site.
